Sandybeach Writers continue to shine with incredible achievements in writing, poetry and publishing. Here’s a roundup of recent publications, awards and recognitions for both former and current members.

  • Barbara Pyett – Enduring Threads (self-published, October 2025), poetry collection.

  • Kathleen Raulings – Endangered Grasslands (Seeds, 2025), non-fiction.

    • Endangered Grasslands explores the impact of colonisation on native temperate grasslands in south-eastern Australia, offering restoration strategies and a plant directory of over 50 species. It’s a must-read for nature lovers, conservationists, gardeners, landscapers, and farmers.

About the Author – Kath Raulings

Kath has long been passionate about the natural environment, stemming from her career teaching Geography, English, and History. She completed a Master of Arts in Environmental History at Monash University. Kath lives in Bayside, Melbourne, and enjoys growing native grasses and flowers from the grasslands.
