Your Journey in Writing

This course is led by award winning author, Gayelene Carbis and is ideal for anyone exploring storytelling or life writing in any genre. Whether you're working on a memoir, family history, essays, poetry or creative non-fiction, this class is designed to support your writing journey. This course is suitable for beginners or experienced writers.

 

What to Expect:

  • About our Tutor Gayelene Carbis

    Gayelene Carbis is an award-winning writer of poetry, prose, plays and short film. Her second book of poetry, I Have Decided to Remain Vertical (Puncher and Wattmann) was recently awarded Finalist, International Best Book Awards 2024 (U.S.); and in 2023, Finalist, Best Book Awards, U.S., and Finalist, Poetry Book Awards 2023, U.K.

    Gayelene’s poetry, short stories, memoir, plays and short films have won numerous awards and been published widely in Australia and overseas. Gayelene has taught Creative Writing for many years and she also works as a mentor and manuscript assessor. She is currently working on a collection of stories/auto-fiction/memoir and a new book of poetry.
