About the Organisation:

Sandybeach Community Centre is a not-for–profit Centre providing community education, support, arts and skill development. The work of Sandybeach is defined and shaped by values important to the local community and a shared vision of ideals.

About the Role:

This is a part time position 15 hours a week responsible for receiving and assessing referrals and ensuring that reporting is completed within the current funding guidelines. The position is fixed term from August to November 24, 2017. With the implementation of the Aged Care Review, NDIS and the importance of quality intake and assessment we will be reviewing this position and how we can strengthen person centred practice.


Job Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Timely response to service enquires
  • Assess eligibility against funding requirements
  • Manage waiting lists and maintain engagement with those waiting for a service
  • Ensure individual plans and client files are in place and up to date
  • Work with Program Leaders, Support Staff and Volunteers
  • Work cooperatively with the STEP Intake and Coordination Worker so the positions support each other

Skills and Experience:

  • Understands the principals of client focused service
  • Flexible – adapts to changing circumstances in the workplace
  • Creative and innovative
  • Excellent multi-tasking skills
  • Experience in the aged care and or disability sector
  • Strong computer skills in MS Office – Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Experience working in a team environment
