Sandybeach Centre provides learning opportunities, cultural activities and social support services for many groups in the local community. Here are some comments from participants and tutors in our many programs.
Rosemary Sharman CEO
“When leaders inspire with sincerity, morality and humanity,, accomplishments follow.”
Rosemary has a long history of community contribution, embarking on her first volunteer job when she was seven years old. Many years of experience helping others have equipped her well to manage the role of CEO at Sandybeach Centre. Since Rosemary’s appointment in 2003, the centre has increased turnover by an average of nine per cent annually, significantly grown staff members and won ten business achievement awards. Her desire to bring the best out of people has shaped her career and has helped her implement the cultural changes necessary to make Sandybeach Centre the successful not-for-profit management model it is today.
We join with her in celebrating her achievement in being one of the four finalists in the Telstra Businesswomen of the Year Awards 2009 in the Government and Community Category where she shared the stage with some outstanding women. The winner in this category went on to be named overall winner for Victoria.

Robert DrydenI have been taking the choirs at Sandybeach for eleven years now and still enjoy the challenge of making beautiful music with enthusiastic singers. I currently teach at Haileybury College, in Brighton where I am Deputy Director of Music teaching 3 to 14 year olds. I am eclectic with my musical tastes, I specially love 60’s music with a smattering of Rachmaninov. |

Alexandra RegosHere at Sandybeach we aim for you to have fun in our informal cooking classes. Learn some tricks of the trade that makes things simple to do and then sit down to a small feast and sample the end products. I have been in the industry for over 34 years including head chef and top level catering. My love and passion of cooking comes from my mother and grandmothers and a wide circle of friends from all ethnic backgrounds as well as some recipe development of my own. Apparently I made my first cake at the age of 4, and yes I was told that it was very edible. I am passionate to show that cooking is easy and unravel the mysteries. Join us for fun and laughs and meet new people with the same love of food. |
