Are you someone who likes working with people and having the satisfaction of a job that makes a difference? Certificate III in Aged Care and Certificate III in Home and Community Care are nationally recognised qualifications in aged care,a field where there are constant employment opportunities. The course provides training for personal care attendants (PCAs) who work in a person’s home,in the community or as part of a nursing care team in residential facilities such as hostels and nursing homes. You will learn to provide personal care to older people and assist them with activities of daily living. The program combines theoretical studies and student directed projects with practical experience in aged care facilities. Participants attend classes on Mondays and Wednesdays and undertake work placements throughout the course duration by arrangement with facilities. Those undertaking this course require an interest in and aptitude for working in the aged care and home and community care fields together with good basic communication and literacy skills. A current national police check is required for field placements and an application must be completed prior to commencement of the course. Course fee includes materials,assessments and police check. Certificate IV in Training and Assessment –TAE40110
This is a nationally recognised qualification and is a requirement of the Australian Quality Training Framework (AQTF) for anyone delivering training and assessment services in the vocational education and training (VET) sector.
Job roles include trainers in registered training organisations,trainers and assessors in a workplace environment,vocational education teachers and training advisors and assessors.
Participants in this course will learn how to unpack a Training Package and adapt units of competency to meet clients’ needs;investigate the principles of adult learning,the context of workplace training,preparing training programs,learning resources,preparing and delivering sessions and planning,conducting and reviewing assessment. Trainer-led classroom sessions are held one a week and participants are also required to complete a substantial amount of research and assignment work in their own time. They will need to have computer skills,access to the internet and a computer that has the capacity to download material at a reasonable speed. Course fee includes materials and assessments. Certificate III in Children’s Services –CHC30708
Are you looking for a rewarding career working with children? Would you like to make a positive impact on children’s lives? Anyone wanting to work in a Victorian childcare centre now requires the nationally recognised Certificate III in Children’s Services. The course provides the skills and knowledge needed to work as a childcare assistant,a family day carer and as a nanny. You will learn to plan experiences and provide care to children,facilitating their play and supporting their development. The course contains 15 units and combines theoretical study with practical experience in childcare centres. Participants will attend classes on Mondays and Fridays and undertake work placements throughout the course duration. First Aid Level II training is included. The course also provides extensive credits into the Diploma of Children’s Services.
Students in this course require an interest in and aptitude for working in the children’s services field and good basic communication and literacy skills. Applicants will need to attend an information session and then obtain a satisfactory ‘working with children’ check prior to enrolling. Please note that you need to be at least 18 years of age to gain employment in the child services industry.
