We care about your opinion of us and whether we are meeting your needs. As part of our service to you we have developed and documented many policies,including the following:

You will receive a Participant Information brochure on enrolment. However,if you would like more information about these policies and procedures,please ask our staff.
Cancellation and Refund Policy 2012
Cancellation by Sandybeach Centre
A full refund is made if a course has to be cancelled by Sandybeach Centre. Notification of a minimum of 5 days,where possible,will be given. All refunds will be forwarded by cheque.
Fee for Service Courses –Cancellation by the Student
- Refund and/or transfer will only be considered if at least 7 days (five working days) notice is given before course commencement date. In these instances an administrative charge of $20 will apply.
- Notification received by Sandybeach Centre less than 7 days (five working days) of the course commencement date –No refund of fees or transfer of enrolment.
- Government subsidised places –conditions apply,see below.
Government Subsidised Places - Cancellation by the Student
Refunds for these places will be in line with government requirements:
If a student withdraws,in writing,at any time up until 4 weeks after the scheduled course commencement,the following applies:
- If no training has been undertaken,Sandybeach Centre will refund the
course fees - If part of the training has been completed,only the applicable portion
of tuition and materials fees will be refunded.
For withdrawals more than 4 weeks after the course commencement date there is no
refund of fees or transfer of enrolment.
Child Care and Early Learning Centre - Cancellation by the carer
Refunds will only be provided when minimum 2 weeks advance written notice is provided. Administration charge of $20 will apply.
All refunds will be forwarded by cheque.

Eligibility for Government subsidised places as of 2012
Some of our courses are delivered with Victorian and Commonwealth funding under the Victorian Training Guarantee,which offers government subsidised places in vocational education and training to people who meet the eligibility criteria. People with disabilities are encouraged to access government subsidised training.
Am I eligible for a government subsidised training place in a Sandybeach Centre course?
In 2012 you are eligible for a government subsidised training place if you:
Meet one of the following citizen/residency criteria:
- Australian citizen
- Australian Permanent Resident (holder of a permanent visa)
- Holder of a Special Category Visa (sub-class 444,New Zealand citizen)
- East Timorese asylum seeker,or
- Holder of a Temporary Protection Visa
And are any of the following:
- A person under 20 years of age;
- An applicant seeking to enrol in a Foundation skills course (applies to programs in ESL,Writing Skills,
Disability and some computer courses in this Guide,where a government subsidised price is shown) - An applicant seeking to enrol in a higher qualification than your highest qualification obtained in Australia (applies to Certificates I,III or IV in this Guide)
Applicants for government subsidised places
are required to provide proof of citizenship/residency status upon enrolment.
This could be one of the following documents:
- an Australian Birth Certificate
- a current Australian Passport
- a current New Zealand Passport
- a naturalisation certificate
- a Temporary Protection Visa
- a green Medicare Card
- Formal documentation issued by the Australian Department of Immigration and Citizenship confirming permanent residence
- A signed declaration by a relevant referee
If the student’s age is relevant to their
eligibility and the document produced from the list above does not include a
date of birth,please provide one of the following:
- a current driver’s licence
- a current learner permit
- a Proof of Age card
- a ‘Keypass’ card
Concessions may be available to holders of:
- Health Care Card
- Pensioner Concession Card
- Veterans Gold Card
Concessions
Concessions may be available for eligible students who are holders of a Health Care Card,Pensioner Concession Card or Veterans Gold Card.
Other Sandybeach courses
Concessions on many Sandybeach fee-for-service courses are available to holders of
- Health Care Card
- Pensioner Concession Card
- Seniors Card
Note: For all courses and activities,a full fee applies when the cost of tuition is being met by a Commonwealth Government Agency or by an agency participating in a Commonwealth program or initiative,eg a Job Service Agencies.
GST
We have an obligation to collect GST on behalf of the Australian Taxation Office,where applicable. Some of the courses and activities offered by Sandybeach Centre are subject to GST and have been priced accordingly.
Privacy Statement
Sandybeach Centre collects information when you apply or register interest to be a participant,the parent or guardian of a participant or a paid or volunteer member of staff. This information enables us to provide the services you require,provide information about our activities and meet legislative and funding body requirements. All organisations are bound by Privacy legislation.
We are committed to protecting the confidentiality of your record and we treat your information in the strictest confidence and store it securely.
Under the Privacy Act you have the right of access to personal information we hold about you. Where there is a cost incurred in copying and retrieving documents this cost may be passed on to you. If this information is incorrect,you have the right to require us to amend the information.
