Writing Skills (Claire Gaskin)
This writing course is suitable for beginners and people with some writing experience. We will do exercises together, designed to get you started and keep you going. You will have the opportunity to share your writing with others and get constructive feedback. Become aware of what your contemporaries are writing and aware of the broader literary community and publishing opportunities. It will give you a peer group in a supportive and friendly environment. Open yourself up to new ideas and have fun. Government funded.

This writing workshop is for experienced writers. You will have the opportunity to tell the truth about your life, or life as you see it, what you feel and what you think. It’s a powerful and rewarding thing to do. Be inspired by hearing other people’s writing, learn techniques and do writing exercises to overcome the blank page. You will have the opportunity to workshop your writing to improve its impact. Receive feedback from the tutor and other members on how to develop your writing to a publishable standard. Enjoy being part of a supportive and friendly, stimulating group. Government funded.

Poetry Workshop (Claire Gaskin)
Meet once a month to learn to write evocative poetry in a supportive, friendly and stimulating group. Suitable for those with some poetry experience. Bring your poems to the workshop. Learn from Claire Gaskin who has over twenty years experience as a workshop facilitator, poetry practitioner and as an editor and judge of literary prizes.
Book Club (Tricia Buchanan)
Do you want to read and discuss interesting books in a friendly, relaxed environment with like-minded people? Books will be explored and you will be given guiding questions to aid discussion. Please read Noah’s Compass by Anne Tyler before the first class. Meet one Tuesday every month.
Italian for Travellers
This course designed to give students foundation skills and includes cultural aspects of travelling in Italy. In a relaxed informal setting, learn the basics and everyday useful expressions. You will have plenty of opportunity to practise in class.
