Bridge and Solo
As a beginner or more advanced, you will learn to play bridge or solo and have lots of fun.
Bridge Beginners (Alison Bell)
Two-hour lessons over 8 weeks to help introduce you to the mechanics, ethics and card techniques needed to start you on the way to becoming a bridge player. For those who have never played before or need to restart. Students to bring a pen.
Supervised Play (Alison Bell & Joy Millman)
Up to three-and-a-half hours of supervised play; the first hour with two teachers, the second with one and then freeplay for the remaining time, with help as needed. Deal up a hand, or use one of our pre-set lesson hands with printed records of deal and play. We discuss new topics each week including commonly played conventions, as well as all aspects of card play and scoring – all with take home notes and practice hands. A friendly environment for fine tuning your bridge, while helping you build the skills and confidence needed to join Duplicate (if desired) but without the pressure of Duplicate play. Please bring a pen.
Supervised Duplicate (Joy Millman)
Interested in becoming a Duplicate bridge player? New to the world of Duplicate Bridge? Then this is the place for you! This friendly and relaxed Duplicate is fully supervised, questions may be asked while in session and are welcomed throughout. We do run to time, but allow enough time for new players to ease gradually into the routines of Duplicate play without the pressure experienced elsewhere. We aim to keep our Duplicate competitive and enjoyable while allowing all players the chance to develop their Duplicate skills. Please bring a pen.
Solo (Margaret Campbell)

Book Club (Tricia Buchanan)
Do you want to read and discuss interesting books in a friendly, relaxed environment with like-minded people? Books will be explored and you will be given guiding questions to aid discussion. Please read Noah’s Compass by Anne Tyler before the first class. Group meets one Tuesday every month.
