Sandybeach Centre computer training program offers a great range of courses for the novice and for more experienced computer operators. Classes are for the general community, professionals in industry, seniors and beginners.

The computers have flat-screen monitors and run Windows XP and Office 2007.

All our courses are tutor-directed learning. Our expert tutors work through the course with the class. We use a data projector and a large screen to ensure all students have a good view at all times.

Outlook and Internet

Using Outlook 2007, begin with the basics and quickly go on to Outlook for business application.  Create and work with Contacts, Tasks and Calendar to schedule meetings and appointments.  Work with file and item attachments within emails.  Use a range of basic techniques in Internet Explorer to search the web; create and work with Favourites, save and print information.   Students must have basic computer skills.  Course fee includes manual and materials.

Mind Your Own Business (MYOB) – Part 1

Learn the basic features of MYOB to perform the day-to-day business and bookkeeping functions. This intensive course will cover areas including setting up a business and the use of the purchasing, sales, spend money and cards modules. The final part of the course relates to the preparation of a Business Activity Statement (BAS). The course uses realistic case studies and is complemented by applications to specific situations. This is an ideal beginning for small business operators and people wishing to become bookkeepers and administrators in small and medium-sized businesses. Good computer skills and a basic knowledge of bookkeeping is required. It is necessary to attend all sessions to receive maximum benefit.  Course fee includes manual.  Government subsidised (F).

Mind Your Own Business (MYOB) – Part 2

This course provides a more detailed insight into the features of MYOB. The course is divided into two major parts. The first part examines MYOB advanced features including setting of system parameters, system administration, setting up cost centres, job costing, customising forms and the use of templates. The second part focuses on the MYOB payroll module, where participants will learn how to set up and operate a payroll. With the completion of the MYOB1 and MYOB2 courses, participants will have sufficient technical skills to maintain an MYOB-based accounting system in a variety of businesses. To receive maximum benefit from the course, participants need to have a good basic knowledge of bookkeeping and to have either completed MYOB Part 1 or have basic knowledge of the MYOB program.
