Mixed Choir “Vocally Wild” (Robert Dryden)

Attention all budding singers! Vocally Wild wants you in its ranks! The choir is looking for new members to join in the fun. With an established soprano/alto/baritone harmony line, the choir prides itself on having lots of fun and learning about the art of singing. Choir Master Robert Dryden takes you through the preparation of singing with vocal warm-ups and exercises and then teaches the choir a whole variety of songs, from the Hallelujah Chorus to Bohemian Rhapsody. No audition necessary. The ability to read music is helpful but not essential.  Try it – you’ll enjoy the experience!

Margaret Glass – Sandringham – By the Work of All – Stories of Sandringham, Hampton, Black Rock and Beaumaris

It is always fascinating to learn about the history of the area you live in.  Sandringham – By the Work of All tells about the development of Hampton, Sandringham, Black Rock and Beaumaris which comprised the former Municipality of Sandringham.  There are many interesting tales to be told, starting with the Boonwerwung, the original Aboriginal inhabitants of the area to the hard-fought battle to separate from the Shire of Moorabbin.  The suburbs have gone through many phases, from the holiday resorts loved by the Heidelberg school of painters to teh current suburbs of today’s City of Bayside. Join Margaret Glass and learn more about the suburb you live in.
