About Us

Welcome to Sandybeach Centre

Sandybeach Centre is an independent not-for-profit community co-operative society, established in 1982.  We loook forward to celebrating our 30th Birthday in 2012.

As a Learn Local organisation and Community College,we are very pleased to offer a diverse range of learning options and activities for all ages in our supportive and friendly environment.  We offer a range of vocational and recreational courses including nationally recognised training to Certificate IV level.

We serve people in the Bayside,Kingston and Glen Eira local government areas of Melbourne, though our programs are not restricted to residents of those areas. The Centre is a registered training organisation and a registered occasional child care and early learning centre. We are a hub of educational and cultural activities in the community and our participants are adults participating in a variety of nationally recognised training courses;learning computing, accounting practice or hospitality. Others attend pre-accredited courses, such as learning English as a second language. Many enjoy our range of leisure and special interest groups.

We also offer a Transition Gateway Program for those with intellectual disabilities and activities for older adults, particularly for those who would otherwise be socially isolated.

During 2011 our Centre was very proud to be acknowledged at the national level, winning Adult Community Based Learning Provider of the Year Award.  We were also one of three finalists in the Australian Training Awards,Community Pathways to Vet.
